We Heart Hayden

What for? Of course, to rally and speak in the “Save the Whales Again!” campaign! =) Hayden Panettiere arrived in our nation’s capital (via Dulles airport) late night of January 26. The next day, she attended the campaign rally (pictures on the next post!) which is calling on the United States to stand up for whales at the International Whaling Commission and take diplomatic and economic action against whaling countries. By the way, is it just me or Hayden Panettiere really looks great in her white overcoat with large black buttons?? Man, this gurl really has great fashion sense! =) Anyway, according to press reports,

“After the rally, Hayden Panettiere will speak at Georgetown University. On Monday, she will meet with representatives from the embassies of Japan, Norway and Iceland to question their outdated whaling practices.”

Attention Hayden Panettiere fanatics! Our favorite actress will be leading a rally against a resumption of commercial whaling in Washington D.C.’s Dupont Circle at 1pm today, January 27th. The “Heroes” actress will also be speaking with policymakers and students to encourage increased whale protection. Hayden Panettiere recently told the press,

“Whales face increasing threats from climate change, ship strikes, entanglement in nets, and chemical and noise pollution, yet Japan, Norway and Iceland continue to kill them in increasing numbers. I am looking forward to talking with officials who actually make and carry out our policies, as well as fellow young people who will be voting in the upcoming election—I want our voice to be heard.”

So guys, be there at Dupont Circle or be square! Hehe!

The busy as a bee “Heroes” actress was sighted at the Pepsi Stuff Music and More launch last Friday. And boy, Hayden Panettiere looked so gorgeous wearing a black strapless dress with matching peep-toe shoes and a killer hairdo/makeup combo. The dark eye shadows totally glammed up her face! WTG gurl! I wonder where boyfriend Milo is! Hmmm..

Most of us who are into celebrities knew of the back to back deaths of Brad Renfro and Heath Ledger. Brad’s death, however, was much less publicized than Heath’s. So many stars have spoken about the young Aussie actor’s death and Hayden Panettiere is now among them. Earlier today, TMZ.com caught up with Hayden and she spoke a few words about Heath’s death. Yesterday, we posted that the “Heroes” star doesn’t want to be known as a partygirl with criminal records. To further prove her point, Hayden Panettiere joined organizations that have worthwhile causes. Currently she is supporting World Children’s Day and protesting about dolphin killing. Hayden Panettiere told Star magazine,

“Being on a show called Heroes has opened my eyes to charity work and being a part of things like World Children’s Day. In Japan, the dolphins were being slaughtered in front of us, and we were swimming in bloody water, and that was intense. I was really upset because I knew most would die, unfortunately, but I hope I saved others.”

And for those who are missing their favorite TV shows due to the writers strike, you’re not alone — the actors miss working on their sets too. Hayden shared,

“We are crossing our fingers that we get back to work soon. We really do love working on our show.”

By that, I guess she meant not be a total wreck, lol! I’m sure girls all over the world envy the success Britney Spears has with her career, but at what cost?? Personal life all in shambles! And Hayden Panettiere is smart enough to say NO to that. She says she is more interested in using her celebrity status to help people, and wants to be a good role model for her young fans. That’s so refreshing to hear gurl! When Star magazine asked Hayden Panettiere how she manages to stay on the right path, as compared to Britney and Lindsay, the “Heroes” actress said,

“They are doing what they’re doing, and I’m doing what I’m doing. I am privileged to do what I love to do and I hope to stick around. I don’t hope to go to rehab or get DUIs.”
