We Heart Hayden

Nickelodeon announced last Monday that Hayden Panettiere, long with Cameron Diaz, Steve Carell, Shia LaBeouf, Harrison Ford, Chris Brown, Heidi Klum, and Drake Bell will appear on the March 29 awards show. The guest list also includes Ashlee Simpson, Miranda Cosgrove, Amy Poehler, America Ferrera, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Howie Mandel, Josh Peck and Ryan Seacrest. Comedian and actor Jack Black is slated to preside over the family-friendly event.

Miley Cyrus and The Naked Brothers will perform in Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards. Nickelodeon’s Paula Kaplan said in a statement,

“Nickelodeon and the Kids’ Choice Awards are about showcasing all things that are hot and now with kids, and Miley Cyrus and The Naked Brothers Band rule with our audience. We’re very excited that they’ll perform live for the biggest kids’ audience of the year.”

Kids can cast votes online at http://www.nick.com/kca in 18 award categories. Go vote kids! =) As for me, I’ll be waiting for Hayden Panettiere to show up.. I wonder what she’ll wear! =)

And not just Milo Ventimiglia! Hehe! Masi Oka, the actor who plays Hiro Nakamura in “Heroes“, has said that Hayden Panettiere is the one who takes care of everybody on the set. So, is this true? Is our fave “Heroes” actress a mother hen?? Hehe! Hayden Panettiere answers,

“We really have an interesting dynamic together. Honestly, ours is one of those shows where everyone gets along. I’ve got two people who run around that I call dad on the show. It’s so much fun to work with these people. And Adrian (Pasdar, who plays Nathan Petrelli) has got this big brother quality. Everyone is such a blast. Jack (Coleman, who plays Claire’s dad, Noah Bennet) is one of my favourite people on the planet. He’s one of the most talented people I’ve ever met. He’s absolutely wonderful. I’ve also gotten a chance to work with Milo (Ventimiglia, who plays Peter Petrelli). We are all really, really close. Also, when we went on the world tour together – Milo, Adrian, Jack and I – we got very close. I really enjoyed it. I mean, there was no drama even to report.”

Hayden Panettiere further explains,

I have this motherly-ness about me, I guess. You know … “Do you need this?”, “Do you need that?”, “Can I make you tea?”, “Can I get you food?”. I like doing things for people and when you’re working together, it’s nice to be there for them. I guess for the first season, I was one of the two regulars girls on the show, so it’s nice to have that motherly effect. I try to take care of my boys … I like to take care of my boys.

And Hayden Panettiere defeated her in their match-up on HDTV ‘Hottie Hysteria’ — TVPredictions.com’s elimination tournament to determine who’s the hottest female in High-Definition TV! Cool poll huh?? =) In round one of the Rear Projection division of HDTV Hottie Hysteria, TVPredictions.com pitted Nicole (first seed in the rear projection division) against Hayden (eighth seed). And our favorite “Heroes” actress won by a large margin!

Final poll results showed Hayden Panettiere with 66% of the votes while Nicole Kidman only garnered 34%. 950 readers voted in the poll. What’s it all about? Wyler Award is given to a celebrity who has made news on behalf of animals, and was named after Genesis Awards founder Gretchen Wyler, the former Broadway headliner and animal activist, who died last year. And this year, they’re going to give it to whale advocate Hayden Panettiere who drew worldwide attention to the cruelty of Japan’s whale and dolphin slaughter. Woohoo! Beverly Kaskey, Senior Director of The Hollywood Office of The Humane Society of the United States, says

“We feel Hayden is a very worthy successor to Sir Paul McCartney, last year’s Wyler Award recipient. She’s an inspiring example to her generation, using her compassion, courage and celebrity to help animals in a very effective way.”

Wow! Succeeding Paul McCartney?? What an honor! Way to go Hayden Panettiere! =) Presented by The Humane Society of the United States, The 22nd Genesis Awards (which takes place this March 29, 2008 at The Beverly Hilton), honors the news and entertainment media for showcasing animal protection issues.

Before Milo Ventimiglia, our favorite “Heroes” actress dated a another guy with Italian-sounding name. And for the first time, Hayden Panettiere spoke about their split. The guy in question? Stephen Colletti, a “Laguna Beach” actor whom she had a one-year relationship. Hayden Panettiere broke up with him last September as she needed space. She says that they had parted on amicable terms. She soon dated “Heroes” co-star Milo Ventimiglia after. Hayden Panettiere tells Seventeen magazine,

“I just knew I wanted to breathe. I wanted to be single at the time. It just hit me like a ton of bricks — this is the time I need to be with myself.”

Hayden Panettiere also admits in the interview she was not an easy girlfriend. She shares,

“It takes such a secure person to be with someone like me; it takes so much confidence, it takes so much trust.”

Hayden Panettiere was recently interviewed about Heroes‘ disappointing second season. Read on below and see what she has to say –

Entertainment Weekly reported that Tim Kring (the creator) had apologised to Heroes fans because Season Two didn’t quite hit a high note. What’s your opinion on the second season?

Hayden Panettiere: I’ve always said it about this show: it’s such a difficult thing to write. There was a lot of pressure on the writers in the second season. I think what happened was they strayed a little, trying something a bit different, and that didn’t really fly with people. They didn’t exactly stick to what they knew and what worked for the first season. But I think they’ve definitely come up with a great solution. I saw Tim the other night and I’ve never seen anyone sound so excited about the idea of where the show is going in the third season. So I think in the third season we’ll go back into the action and the adventure itself.

Are you disappointed at the ratings of the second season?

Hayden Panettiere: That’s a tough question. I really enjoy what I do, and the people that I work with. I’m more excited about the third season than I am about the second. I think there were definitely mistakes made and characters put in the wrong storylines and wrong directions. But I am very confident that our writers and creators can figure out the ways to right that. I think they have figured it out and it’s been settled.

Hoodwinked is the super funny TWISTED animated movie of fairytale stories starring the lil Red Riding Hood. In the movie, she is simply called Red and was voiced by Anne Hathaway in the first movie. Her partner, the Woodsman, was voiced by Jim Belushi. In the sequel, Red will now be voiced by Hayden Panettiere. Woohoo! According to Hoodwinked’s director Cory Edwards,

This time around, Red will not be voiced by Anne Hathaway, but by Hayden Panettiere, the “super cheerleader” from Heroes. This seems very fitting, since Red becomes a bit more of a “caped crusader” in this [second] film. The Woodsman is now being voiced by comedy legend Martin Short.

Can’t wait for this one to come out! Hayden Panettiere’s voice will surely fit Red’s to a T =) The working title for the sequel is Hoodwinked 2: Hood vs. Evil. LOL!

If you’re a true-blue fan of Heroes, you might have known that its season two did poorly in the United States. And you would have known that only 11 out of the planned 24 episodes (due to the writers’ strike) made it on screen. Lastly, you’d know that this week’s episode will feature Hayden Panettiere extensively Yeah!! =) In the past episodes of Heroes, Claire Bennet (Hayden’s character) has been lying to her father (who calls her Claire bear, hehe) and fooling around with boyfriend West Rosen (Nicholas D’Agosto). And this week, Claire finds herself in a tight spot when she doesn’t make the cheerleading squad! Boohoo! How will she cope with this? Watch this week’s episode called “The Line” and wince as Claire struggles to be understood by her friends and her father. As usual, expect to see Claire determined to have things her way =)

Who would have thought that puppies will figure in Hayden Panettiere’s photoshoot with Candie’s? And the pups were so adorable!! Even Hayden squealed when she saw them, hehe!
