We Heart Hayden

WOW! And it won’t be about saving dolphins and other such stuff like her previous visit to Washington, D.C., the home of the venerable White House. This time, Hayden Panettiere is among the chosen celebrities invited for the White House Press Correspondents Association Dinner. The annual dinner started in 1920 and is now a highlight of the US President’s social calendar. US Vice President Dick Cheney has already confirmed he will be at the April 26 bash, however, it is not yet known whether President George W. Bush will attend.

Other than Hayden Panettiere, Pamela Anderson, Ben Affleck ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress Marcia Cross, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton (what the???) and ‘The Hills’ star Lauren Conrad were also invited. Scottish comic Craig Ferguson will host the evening. Previous guests have included singer Sheryl Crow, model Petra Nemcova and British comedian Eddie Izzard. Hmm, I’m seeing a pattern here. It seems that the invited celebrities are the ones who are fighting for socially relevant causes (except for Perez, ughh!). Go save your dolphins Hayden! =)

Can anyone of you guys confirm this? Stumbled on a bit of news that Heroes hottie Hayden Panettiere and her co-star lover Milo Ventimiglia are fans of the ice sport. According to the report, HaLo have done promo work for the NHL, and sparked rumours of a fling when they were spotted together at a Kings game in October. Hmm, maybe their common love of hockey was what started Hayden and Milo’s relationship.. =)

The video footage of the Heroes babe yesterday was shot back January when Hayden Panettiere was in town to lobby Congress on whaling issues. Senator Paul Strauss met her at the Barack Obama rally on January 28, and enlisted her help for a quick PSA. The senator relates,

“She [Hayden Panettiere] was lobbying the Senate on whale issues as part of her Save the Whales campaign … I assured her that she would get my vote, but, hey, I don’t get one.”

Over lunch in the Senate dining room, Sen. Strauss says, he explained “what I could do for whales and how much more I could do if I got a vote … She saw the injustice and agreed to help us out.” Lucky for him, a camera crew documenting Hayden Panettiere’s whale work was following her around and they agreed to shoot a quick video after their lunch =)

The Shadow Delegation managed to get Hayden Panettiere into recording a PSA reminding District taxpayers to donate to the D.C. Statehood Delegation Fund, which is used to support the doings of Shadow Senators Paul Strauss and Michael D. Brown and Shadow Rep. Mike “Close Enough to Panettiere” Panetta. Go watch Hayden! =)

Declare Yourself (Think.MTV.com/DeclareYourself) is a national nonpartisan, nonprofit campaign to empower and encourage every eligible 18-year-old in America to register and vote in the presidential primaries and 2008 presidential election. If you can remember, Declare Yourself’s last “Young Hollywood” party was emceed by Hayden Panettiere and featured Justin Timberlake, Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, Romeo, Kristin Bell, Chester Bennington, lead vocalist of Linkin Park, etc.

And today, ThinkMTV, Seventeen Magazine and Declare Yourself kicked off a new effort to help mobilize every eligible young American to register and vote. Officially launching on today’s episode of TRL and in the May issue of Seventeen, the new “In the Time it Takes” competition challenges young people to make a less than 90sec viral video showing how quick and easy it is to register to vote. The individual who submits the best entry will get a trip for two to LA and VIP passes to Declare Yourself’s celebrity-packed “Young Hollywood” party this September. Woohoo! Time to hobnob with Hayden Panettiere and other celebs!

But gf Hayden Panettiere is nowhere to be found! I’m really seeing a pattern here — it seems Milo and Hayden are only seen together in photos when the event is formal. But if it’s shopping or cutesy awards, don’t expect to see HaLo together. Hmm.. A very low-key relationship! Nwei, here’s Milo Ventimiglia posing while shopping for snowboards, boots and bindings at the Burton store on Melrose in Los Angeles last weekend.

Acting, singing, saving whales.. And now, as widely reported, Hayden Panettiere (along with comedian Justin Long) will voice the title characters in “Alpha and Omega,” an animated family feature whose lineup also includes Christina Ricci and Danny Glover. The movie follows two bickering wolves — one a disciplined, Alpha-bred wolf (Hayden Panettiere) and the other a fun-loving, comical Omega wolf (Justin Long) — who are captured and taken thousands of miles from their home.

Determined to rejoin their pack, the two mismatched wolves begin a dangerous trek across unfamiliar terrain, battling the odds, the elements, the bears and one another — and finding love along the way. SWEET!!! =) And Hayden’s career is certainly sizzling hot with all the movie (and other) projects coming her way! Anthony Bell (”The Boondocks”) and Ben Gluck (”Brother Bear 2″) are directing “Alpha and Omega“. Production is underway. Lionsgate will distribute the film in North America and the U.K. in 2010.

Yup, another one! =) Currently, the Heroes actress is playing the title role in the Chris Columbus-directed Fox Atomic comedy “I Love You, Beth Cooper,” and she is also scheduled to star in “Daydream Nation”. In addition to that, Hayden Panettiere is recording an album for Hollywood Records, with the first single, “Wake Up Call,” set for release in the fall. She’s certainly a busybody huh??

Anyway, Hayden’s new movie is entitled “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List”. Fox Atomic recently acquired the novel “Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List” of the same title and will develop it as a star vehicle for the 18-year old actress. Published last year by Knopf, the book’s story takes place in Manhattan, where Naomi and her gay best friend Ely protect their soulmate friendship by creating a list of people deemed off limits for smooching. Their friendship is imperiled when Ely kisses Naomi’s boyfriend. I guess Hayden will play Naomi =)

After crying while joining in an attempt to stop Japanese fisherman from slaughtering her beloved dolphins months ago, Hayden Panettiere cried for them again when she was honored at the Humane Society’s Genesis Awards, as a celebrity who brings attention to animal causes. Hayden received the Gretchen Wyler Award while her parents and boyfriend, “Heroes” castmate Milo Ventimiglia watched. Yeah, believe it or not, Milo was there! =) And while she was giving her acceptance speech, the 18-year old actress broke down.

“As an actress, you always dream of getting awards like the Golden Globe award, but I never expected to get an award that is this special and important to me as this. There are people who dedicate their entire lives to preserving the environment and defending animals, they are so much more deserving of something like this.”

Well-said Hayden! But then, they are not celebrities so.. Hehe! According to People, after breaking down at the podium, Hayden went to the bathroom to regain her composure, and then was escorted back to her seat by Milo. What a gentleman! =)

And this one isn’t a rumor or just some “according to source” tidbit! Hehe! In fact, Jansen Panettiere himself who told US Weekly what he thought of sister Hayden’s much older boyfriend. At the Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD release party in L.A. last Thursday, Jansen said,

“Milo is cool, he’s a pretty chill guy.”

Finally, a REAL and documented family approval from a Panettiere! =) As for Milo Ventimiglia, his latest revelation was that he had a crush on Hayden Panettiere even when she was still dating reality star and VJ Stephen Colletti (which ended last summer). A source said Milo confessed his feelings “the minute she broke up with Stephen.” SWEET! =) Also, a source close to the actor shrugged off their 12-year-age gap between the two Heroes stars, saying,

“[Hayden Panettiere] is really like a 30-year-old [anyway].”
