According to them, the Smurfs (those little blue creatures created in 1958 as Les Schtroumpfs by Belgian cartoonist Pierre Culliford aka Peyo) will be having their first full-featured film soon! And Hayden Panettiere is on their wishlist. If you can remember, the lovable Smurfs have their own Saturday morning cartoon series during the 80s in NBC, and now, they are finally coming to the big screen. According to reports, Sony is apparently developing a Smurfs movie that’s part live-action, part animation.

Aside from Hayden Panettiere, USA Today wants Stephen Colbert and David Archuleta. The paper is totally rabid in casting celebrities as voices of cartoons (ala Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy in the Shrek films) and you can view their full voice cast dream list HERE. So, is Hayden up for this or what?? =)
