The young actress best known as the cheerleader Claire Bennet on NBC’s “Heroes” will star in another cheerleader role, this time on the big screen. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Hayden Panettiere is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox’s genre label Fox Atomic to star in the teen coming-of-age movie “I Love You, Beth Cooper”. The movie is based on the novel by Larry Doyle, a former writer for “The Simpsons” who now works for the magazine the New Yorker.

Chris Columbus is in talks to direct to direct Hayden Panettiere, and will also serve as the film’s producer. Fox Atomic is aiming to start filming the movie this spring. Hayden Panettiere will play the titular role of Beth, the school’s hottest cheerleader who shows their nerdy valedictorian Denis Cooverman the best night of his life after he proclaims his love for her during his graduation speech.
